DIGITAL STAGE in association with WOMBWELL THESPIANS have just produced their audio performance of “The Importance of Being Earnest” by Oscar Wilde. This was released in 3 parts relating to the 3 act version of the play. Act 1 was released on 23 Aug 2020 with Act 2 released on 30 Aug 2020 and Act 3 released on 5 Sep 2020.

The Importance of Being Earnest Following on from the Audio Performances of the Pandemic Stories, the Wombwell Thespians Amateur Dramatics Society (in association with Digital Stage), have produced a new set of recordings (audio broadcasts) on Oscar Wilde’s “The Importance of Being Earnest”.

This is the full 3 act version and the whole cast is:-

Note – not all actors / characters are in all 3 parts (acts) – The three acts are released in Aug/Sep 2020. Described as a Trivial Comedy for Serious People, it is set in 1895 when attitudes were somewhat different, but love was still love, well, kind of… Hear a great performance from Fiona as Lady Bracknell as she deals with the various situations and dilemmas of the younger members present!

The play was recorded using socially distanced actors within JFYP Photo Studio at various times with all the parts then edited together. The audio quality is good but the loudness not always consistent.
